This is really just a matter of limited manpower. Ripple has an API incompatible with the other coins we currently support. We have a compatibility layer in our code that translates API calls to a standard format, and we would have to program one especially for XRP, which takes a moderate amount of time. Other users have also requested LISK and other unique API coins, so at some point in the future, I will hold a vote on what type of coin we should implement next and prioritize the most popular ones. Right now we are prioritizing performance improvements and SHA-256 mining, but I think I can work on these coins after we get SHA-256 mining stable.
